Messages from Myrtle

It’s a rain filled Thursday here in Myrtle Beach and I have to say I’m a bit bummed about it. I decided to take two days off work to follow Ben down to the South for an interview here. Our plane landed yesterday mid-morning, giving us time to cruise up and down the coast line scouting out potential neighborhoods and areas for us to live in (if we were to get matched here). So I feel like I need to share this because when you bump into genuinely nice people, it gives me an inkling of hope for our world.

When we got off the plane and headed to get our rental car, we were pleasantly surprised to be treated extra special by a lady who was helping us. Once she found out Ben was in the military she decided to upgrade us to a nicer car. She then in the middle of our conversation found out that Ben and I love Jeep Wranglers, so she upgraded us again so we could drive one while we are here. She was the definition of southern hospitality. I know that may seem insignificant to you, but it meant the world to us and we cruised all afternoon with the top off.

It may only be 60 degrees and rainy here, but we are soaking in the beach vibes and the palm trees while we can. Ben is at his interview from 8-3 today, so I’m skipping around from place to place to fill the time and trying to get to know the area. I had to check out of our hotel at 11 so I was debating all morning where to get lunch. I have been madly craving sushi pretty much all the time lately, so naturally I ended up going to Publix (a grocery store) and picking up a roll and devouring it in the parking lot while watching an episode of Friends on my phone (haha). I know I am really winning at life over here. Don’t worry I picked myself up and have found my way to a Starbucks right on the beach so don’t feel too sorry for me.

I’ve been dreaming a lot lately about this space. About where I want to take it in 2019. It’s been such a special platform for me to just be able to sit down and write. I have a notebook full of things, but I want to hear from you, my readers. What do you want to hear more of in 2019? Email me, leave a comment below or message me on Instagram/Facebook. I’d love to hear from you. Happy Thursday!
